Garmin 750 and 750S![]() In a show that was generally lacking the shoals of new chartplotters and MFDs that we’ve been seeing for the past few years, Garmin was an exception. The latest addition to their range is a touch-screen plotter that slips into the into the significant gap between the 5-inch GPSMap 620 – typically selling for about £600 – and the 8.4-inch 5008, for which the street price is more like £2000. With a list price of £1199.99, the 7-inch GPSMap 750 is likely to be on the chandlers’ shelves at about £1000. The 750S is £100 more, but includes a powerful 1kW sonar. Both versions are waterproof, have integral GPS and bright, 800x480pixel screens, and are pre-loaded with navigation-quality cartography of the UK, Ireland, and the coasts of Northern France and Belgium. One of the most significant features of the new plotters, though, is that they are the smallest and least expensive displays available for use with Garmin’s marine radars. www.garmin.com 02380 524000 |
