Furuno M1835 radar
If you’re
the kind of skipper who prefers twin-lever controls and who can’t see
the point
of 3D charting, you’re going to love the latest additions to Furuno’s
range of
radars. Called the M1835, M1935, M1945, and M1937, they won’t display
charts,
show you fish, play DVDs or let you watch TV.
But don’t
let the fact that they are stand-alone radars – or that they have big
dedicated
twiddle knobs that give direct and genuinely intuitive access to
important
functions such as gain and clutter controls – deceive you into thinking
that
they are old-fashioned or lacking in features: they have big, bright,
bonded
liquid crystal displays, and full-blown big-ship ARPA.
Prices and
performance depend on the antenna, ranging from £3313.50 for the
2ft, 4kW M1835
to £54050 for the 4ft, 6kW M1945.
